90210 Season 4 Premiere

If you missed last night’s season premiere of The CW’s 90210, you missed a lot.

Within the first ten minutes we learned that Naomi’s pregnancy was a false alarm, Silver and Navid were moving in together and right before the credits rolled, Liam returned from his summer trip on a fishing boat with an engagement ring and a proposal for Annie. To say last night’s episode moved fast would be an understatement.

This was the first episode out of the gate since former show-runner Rebecca Sinclair stepped down at the end of last season.

For the most part, the episode was enjoyable. It contained plenty of drama and humor that fans love, including a moment where Naomi ignorantly tries to hide the pot growing in her new backyard by throwing it in the fire at her end of summer party.

However, there were some things that were a little too hard to believe. Since when can Dixon afford a beach house? He just got back from being a roadie on tour all summer. I’m no expert, but I doubt being a roadie pays that much. And the fact that the cowboy, Austin, first showed up as the previous owner of Naomi’s new house, then showed up as Dixon’s new roommate and then went on to hook up with Adrianna was a little too coincidental.

The good thing about the fast pace of the episode was that there was never a dull moment. The show has stuck to its premise in that they will be continuing to show the fantasy-filled, glamorous lifestyle that teens wish they could have. 90210 is not meant to be realistic. It’s a show that’s supposed to be filled with over the top trashy drama and comedy. And that’s why we love it.

Presenting at this year’s ceremony will be Sofia Vergara (Modern Family), Will Arnett (Up All Night), Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation), Zooey Deschanel (New Girl), Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), and Ashton Kutcher (Two and a Half Men).

The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, September 18 at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PDT.

Katie Cassidy

Former Melrose Place 2.0 star, Katie Cassidy, has been tapped to guest star in an episode of New Girl, which critics are calling the best new comedy of the season.

E! Online reports that Cassidy will be playing a beautiful guest at a wedding reception that Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and the gang attend. She ends up catching the eye of Max Greenfield‘s character, Schmidt, one of Jess’ roommates.

Cassidy is currently only slated for one episode, but may be back for more.

New Girl premieres Tuesday, September 20 at 9:00 p.m.

Katie LeClerc

Switched at Birth‘s Katie LeClerc is heading to CBS’ The Big Bang Theory.

LeClerc, who is hearing impaired in real life, has been tapped to guest star as Emily, a friend of Penny’s who is deaf.

According to EW.com, she will appear in the Oct. 6 episode of The Big Bang Theory, which kicks of its fifth season on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c.

Switched at Birth returns with the rest of its supersized first season in early 2012.

Ben Savage

That’s right, ladies and germs, Cory Matthews is heading back to primetime.

According to TVLine, Savage has landed a guest spot on the Fox crime drama Bones portraying what executive producer Steven Nathan describes as a “murder suspect who is married to another suspect who has bought a lottery ticket with another two suspects.” Alrighty then.

The former child star broke the news Wednesday afternoon via Twitter, saying “First day on the set of Bones. Great show and a very talented cast!”

Bones returns on Nov. 3 at 8/7c on Fox. Savage’s episode is slated to air in early December.

Meredith Monroe

Do I get special points for using a rhyming title? No? Okay, then.

Criminal Minds (and Dawson’s Creek) alum, Meredith Monroe, has signed on to do an episode of the Hawaii based cop drama set to air this fall.

A CBS spokesperson has confirmed that Monroe will play a woman who leaves her husband with “the assistance” of a volleyball coach. She’ll find out that the money she took from her ex wasn’t his to begin with and she gets kidnapped by its dangerous rightful owner.

Since most of my summer shows have now ended, I am anxiously waiting for my fall television schedule to begin.

Just how ready am I for the new fall season? I’ve got an entire list printed out of all the shows I plan on watching. Yep. Ah, the life of a television addict without a DVR.

Ever since networks unveiled their schedules in May, I have been anticipating the airing of all these promising new shows. Travel in style to the 1960′s with Pan Am? Yes, please. A new witchy drama called The Secret Circle from the co-creator of The Vampire Diaries? Umm, yes. Two new shows about fairytales? (Once Upon A Time and Grimm) The Disney geek in me is so there.

So while I bide my time, I thought I’d write a personal blog post here and introduce you all to me, my personality and I.

I do plan on recapping and reviewing some of my favorite shows this fall, but you should know that I am a college student who makes school her number one priority. I’m also beginning a new website project for a local community theater and that will take up some time, as well. So please, bare with me.

I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts and opinions with you all, because I love television, I love writing and well, I am planning on making this a career.

Switched at Birth

The critically acclaimed drama series, Switched at Birth has just received a full first season order from ABC Family. The network has ordered 12 more episodes to be filmed to finish out the season.

The series concludes its initial 10-episode summer run on Monday, August 8 at 9 p.m. and will return with 12 brand new episodes early next year.

Switched at Birth is typically Monday’s #1 TV telecast each week in females 12-34 as well as the #1 cable series in the 9 o’clock hour in key female demos.

“Viewers have fallen in love with this show just as we did when we first saw it,” said ABC Family president Michael Riley.

NBC Drama "Smash"

The much buzzed about new NBC series Smash, co-starring Debra Messing and Katharine McPhee will premiere on Monday, Feb. 6 at 10 p.m.

Other NBC news revealed this morning:

*Another Will & Grace star is back! New NBC president Robert Greenblatt announced this morning at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that they are currently developing a new half-hour comedy series starring Sean Hayes.

*Will Arnett‘s Up All Night is changing things up. They have scheduled three days of re-shoots for their pilot episode and are giving Maya Rudolph more to do, no doubt due to the success of her summer movie, Bridesmaids. Her character will now be an Oprah-like talk show host and Christina Applegate‘s character will be her producer.

*The peacock network has struck a two year deal with former Office and current Parks and Recreation showrunner, Greg Daniels  to develop new live-action, animated and reality television series. Greenblatt said “one of our focuses will be to return Greg to primetime animation, for which he had particular success with King of the Hill.”

Kaley Cuoco

The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco has been tapped to host this year’s 13th annual Teen Choice Awards.

The award show is scheduled to air on Sunday, August 7 at 8 p.m. on FOX and will feature performances by OneRepublic and Selena Gomez and the Scene.

Other television stars just announced to appear include Ed Helms (The Office), Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars), Victoria Justice (Victorious), Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries), Rose Byrne (Damages), Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) and Shane West (Nikita).
