Andrea Anders, an actress that has been on many short-lived comedies in the past seven years, including critically acclaimed Better Off Ted and most recently, Mr. Sunshine, has landed herself a new gig.
TVLine reports that the comedic actress will be appearing in at least three episodes of the new USA Network dramedy series, Necessary Roughness, which premieres on Wednesday, June 29 at 10/9c.
The show stars Callie Thorne (Rescue Me) as Dr. Dani Santino, a down-on-her luck psychotherapist who finds herself serving as a “shrink to the stars.” The cast includes Mehcad Brooks (True Blood) as Terrance King, a football all-star and Dani’s first high-profile patient; Marc Blucas (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Matt, the team’s trainer; and Scott Cohen (Gilmore Girls) as a sports “fixer.”
Anders will play a character named Laura, a PR exec that King’s team hires to fix his image. Laura happens to have a “history” with Matt, which will probably get her pulled into a bit of a love triangle with the two men.
Anders appearance kicks off in the July 27 episode and has the potential to become recurring.
