E! News reported early this morning that ABC sudser Revenge has cast CW hottie Justin Hartley (Smallville, Emily Owens M.D.) in the recurring role of Victoria’s son, Patrick.
Hartley will first be seen in the season premiere and will stay for a multiple episode arc.
As fans will recall, Patrick appeared at Victoria’s doorstep during the final montage of the season two finale. We never saw his face, but his appearance was enough to get his mother to express shock on her face as she let her wine glass fall to and shatter on the floor.
All we know about Patrick so far is that Victoria gave birth to him when she was 16 and gave him away to a nun when he was six months old so that she could attend art school in Paris.
After ABC pulled Don’t Trust the B off the air a few weeks ago, I just shook my head and sighed. Another smart comedy bit the dust. I wasn’t too angry about it. After all, this is nothing new and the ratings for the show were far from stellar.
After this (not yet formally announced but we all know it’s coming) cancellation, fans of the show’s Tuesday night partner, Happy Endings, began to panic. Campaigns launched on Tumblr to help spread the word about the show to try and save it from the same fate.
However, the powers that be have put the show on a nearly two month hiatus and have rescheduled the series to air on Fridays. Back to back episodes begin airing on March 22nd at 8 and 8:30 p.m.
Remember when ABC moved Ugly Betty to Fridays? We all know how that ended.
If ratings for the show don’t improve, chances of a renewal are pretty slim.
So, Happy Endings fans. It’s time to put that word of mouth trick to work again and start telling your friends to watch the show and to watch it LIVE.
In the meantime, check out my fansite for Happy Endings here.
